New Head coach for the Men Stadist

Stade Rugby Club Wien is announcing the appointment of Fabian Weidinger as the new head coach for the men Stadists.

Fabian Weidinger started to play Rugby with RC Tigers Klagenfurt and played for several clubs in Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia and Italy. From 2013 to 2016 he played for RC Stade Wien making it to the Austrian state final in 2015.

From 2017 to 2020 he played and coached for RFC Bad Reichenhall (3rd German league), finishing as autumn champion in the Bavarian league in 2020 before Covid stopped the league. Last year he joined RC Graz as a player and won the 15s and 7s state championship. In his career Fabian Weidinger gathered several caps, playing for the Austrian 15s and 7s national team and was part of the Bavarian 7s squad. He will add this experience to the current team.

His goals are to build up a solid A-team and develop a competitive team for the next years. He will be supported by a new assistant coach since Dylan Swaney just left Austria for pursuing new challenges.

Regarding Fabian’s selection as the new head coach of the Stade RC Wien men team, Pascal Gille said: “Fabian is, without a doubt, the best candidate to be the head coach of Stade, and I want to thank him especially for accepting this challenge. The decision to trust him is backed by his career, his experience, by the affection he has for Stade, and especially because he is a great person.”

Stade's success is because we have such great people being here!
