Match Report: Stade Rugby vs. Piestany – A Powerful Finish to 2025

Mo Frank4 Dec - 16:35

A strong finish to the year — ready to keep building in 2026

Stade Rugby closed out the 2025 calendar year in style on November 29th, delivering an outstanding 88–0 victory against Piestany in the final round of the Alpe Adria League before the winter break.
It was the dominant performance the team had been building toward all season—structured, confident, and ruthless in execution.

From the first whistle, Stade took control of the game. The forwards punched holes through the middle, the backs shifted the ball with speed and precision, and the defensive line held firm for the full 80 minutes. It was a statement win and the perfect momentum boost heading into the long winter pause.

Coach Bogi praised the team’s growth throughout the season:
“It was important that we were able to reward ourselves with a victory before the Summer break. The boys played really well and showed the progress we made over the Season. Since we were able to reap our fruits from applying the system it raised more confidence in ourselves and the set up, which led to some beautiful passages of play when we managed to move the ball from side to side, although the forwards allowed themselves some nice carries through the middle. Highest respect to everyone who stepped up this weekend and got themselves some gametime. I hope we can continue building on this momentum once the spring sun melts away some of our injuries.”

Assistant Coach Marko highlighted the team’s discipline and efficiency:
“It was the perfect way to end the season, and most important, it was the result the team deserved. The boys worked hard until the last minute and used the space left by the opposite defense with line speed and high efficiency. That is what is expected from us and we delivered. Besides the high scoring, I am happy that we did not give up any point to the opposition. This shows how clean, focused and structured our work was. I am also delighted for all the boys who could gain precious game time. We end the first half of the season with all necessary step stones to build upon for an exciting second half.”

Our Strength & Conditioning Coach Liam summed it up with a smile:

“I’m happy to report that the stock of tape just about lasted all season, there were no new injuries and morale is high.”

With this victory, Stade Rugby closes an important chapter. The foundations are solid, the system is taking shape, and the belief within the squad is stronger than ever.

Esprit Stade!
