Honour of Arms and Braveheart from our squad. Thank you very much Casale for your warm welcome and friendship.

the Honour of Arms

[@18:30 under 500 spectators, the 13 Spartans and 3 brave Casale players engaged the defence of the Thermopiles against 3 full squads (45 players).
We knew that the battle will be very hard and us only 13 and our auxiliaries from Casale were ready to the final fight and defend our colours. we played with a totally new squad set up due to the last minutes cancellation from players.
the match began with a huge intensity and speed. Stade was from the 1 second under pressure but reacted very well. the experience from last year paid. slowly our players were gaining confidence and gained rucks and mauls.

the red waves seemed unstoppable, our defensive lines were stretched, in many occasion 6-7 red devils attacked 2 Spartans. our third row was, inclusive the pack, were running from one side to another firefighting the huge urgencies. pressure was very high and the first try from Casale came.
a very well and strong italian team, playing with the ball and creating impressive off loads and relaunching phases. 5-6 consecutive phases in a regular attack order.

the reaction of ours was brave and strong. Rucks after rucks, percussions after percussions try came and the Honour was reestablished. the fantastic stade pack reacted very well against a very well organised Red devils scrum. we were winning many game phases and challenges thanks to our commitment and heart.

45 players from casale were engaged in the battle. heavy infantry, light infantry, cavalry and dragons were engaged. the battle seemed totally lost but Eric scored after an incursion.

Thanks to our tactical kicks from our fly half we were able to relaunch the attack.
we can say that we were there, VENI VIDI et PUGNA
we lost but the opponents gave us the Honour of ARMS! we can say that we have new rugby friends in Casale for which we had a fantastic welcome in the pure rugby values and tradition
